2009 CVA Scholarship Winner Selected
Cary Visual Art has selected Brigitta Dewell, a Cary High School Senior as this year's recipient of the Award. The selection committee was particularly impressed with her artistic ability, community involvement and obvious passion for the arts. She will be attending North Carolina State University College of Design in the Fall this year.
Ten Finalists selected for the 2009 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition
CARY, NC. ─ Cary Visual Art, Inc. (CVA) is pleased to announce that ten extraordinary sculptural works of art have been selected for the 2009 Temporary Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition by Juror Linda Dougherty, Chief Curator & Curator of Contemporary Art for the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh. Works by sculptors from North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida will be displayed at Cary’s Town Hall Campus from August 22, 2008 through mid-June 2010.
Cary Visual Art brings on new Executive Director, Linda Frenette
Frenette brings 10 years of arts administration experience to her new position, most recently as executive director of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra. She is well recognized for her collaborative style and brings to CVA valuable experience in fundraising and programming.
Cary Visual Art has been in a transitional period for the past year and a half, under the guidance of Interim Executive Director, Jerry Bolas. CVA is very excited to welcome Linda's ideas and leadership as our new Executive Director!
